Can You Remove Cysts?
Unfortunately, no, we are unable to remove cysts. The clinic focuses on shave excisions, which are unsuitable to remove cysts, which sit deeper in the skin.
What method is used to remove a skin lesion?
We use shave the shave excision method. This is a minor surgical procedure to remove raised lesions from the skin. How do I know if my lesion is suitable for shave excision?
We specialise in removing raised, benign skin lesions such as moles, warts, verrucae, skin tags, and seborrheic keratosis. If you are uncertain about the nature of your skin lesion and whether it can be removed, we recommend sending us a photo first.
Can you remove skin lesions on the face?
Yes, we can remove skin lesions on the face.
Are you able to remove verrucae?
Yes, we can remove verrucae and warts. However, due to the nature of the lesion, we cannot guarantee that the verruca/wart won’t grow back.
Is the procedure painful?
A local anaesthetic injection is used, which causing brief stinging, before numbing the area of the skin lesion. After the initial injection, the procedure is pain-free.
Will I Have a Scar After the Procedure?
By cutting the skin to remove a lesion, there will be scarring as part of the healing process. That said, shave excision is a less intrusive method and typically results in less scarring compared to other procedures. To achieve the best results, we recommend that patients follow the prescribed aftercare process diligently.
Do I need to see my GP before using your service?
We have a qualified doctor who will assess your lesion before removal. However, if you are concerned about the nature of your skin lesion and whether is may be skin cancer, please review with your GP first.
When are the clinics?
We usually perform surgeries at Sea Mills Surgery every Thursday morning. However, we are available to handle enquiries from Monday to Friday by phone or email.
